Dr. Frank Werblin is  responsible for  1) subject recruitment from the pool of clinical customers; 2) enrollment of eligible subjects; 3) provision of device-use instruction over the telephone and internet;  4) distribution and return of study smartphones to volunteer assistants; 5) twice weekly courtesy support calls by Visionize technicians of control group subjects after completion of device-use instruction; and 6) lead data analysis and interpretation and reporting of results.

Dr. Robert Massof will be responsible for leading scientific development and will head the data coordinating center.  Dr. Massof will oversee server operations, data integrity and security, and baseline and follow-up telephone interviews.  He also will participate in monitoring data and patient safety and will participate in data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of results.

James Deremeik, CLVT at Johns Hopkins will develop the low vision telerehabilitation protocol based on expert consensus.  He will test the protocol in mock sessions with experienced volunteer low vision patients and will provide all telerehabilitation services to study participants who are randomized to the test treatment group.  Mr. Deremeik also will participate in data analysis and interpretation and reporting of study results

Dino De Cicco Senior Research Development Engineer will lead the engineering team in the design and implementation of the communications functions required to establish and maintain both voice and video communication between client, coach and therapist. He will coordinate all activities with Dr. Werblin who will maintain oversight of the functional components of the project and the suggestions and input from the CABVI team for additional modifications and refinements as the project develops.
