What we do

  • We develop, design and implement telerehabilitation clinical protocols and services, for clinics treating the visually impaired. Clinicians treat patients in their homes via the internet

  • Among the functions provided are:

  • Vision tests including visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, visual fields and scotoma mapping

  • Automatic acquisition of of the patient’s functional history, psychosocial history, and review of systems (i.e., health history).

  • Remote access to physical measures of lighting and contrast in the patient’s environment; construction of virtual 3D video tours of the patient’s environment in the home

  • 2-way video and audio communication between the low vision service provider and patient.

  • Evaluation of patients’ requirements for and performance limitations with different types of assistive technology (simulated by adapting vision enhancing features currently in our IrisVision electronic low vision enhancement system);

  • Real-time mirroring of the patient’s view for the therapist while the patient is performing tasks with different magnification, contrast enhancement, and lighting control options, as well as with different task and/or environmental adaptations.

These services dramatically improve the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of low vision rehabilitation services. Burdensome and expensive travel is eliminated and replaced with immediate patient/clinician access.  The interactive portal will:
